Very busy day!! Today is our Ariana Lynn's 1st Birthday. Wish i was home to see her, but soon enough i will be. Currently at the Mayo. Ugh not a fun place to be. The Mayo is a happy but sad and dark place. Its is very beautiful and has amazing architecture The Gonda Building is where most of my time is spent this is the newest part of the Mayo. So there are hug windows over looking the city, they have computers on every floor and tons of seating.
There are never many smiles when you come here. People come here from all around the world to get the best medical help and their lives depend on it. Its hard for me to even smile. Most people are old, falling asleep waiting for their pager to go off. most people come with family. some you can tell are scared and have no idea what to think. Others like myself know the place very well have been coming here at least twice a year since age 15, when first diagnosed with CF. Today is a busy day here i had to wait an hour just to get an ultrasound where my thyroid use to be. Not typical here, they are usually on time. I do have a Dr. that over books himself and there is always a wait for him..................SO ANNOYING!! I pay a lot of money for that spot. So who knows when i will get home tonight.
SAD its my daughters 1st Birthday and i'm not there to be with her. I seriously almost cry over that fact. Luckily she is with my better half, he took the day off. I am with her everyday so on this special day (even though she has no idea) it hurts to be away. But my husband always finds away to make things better. When i talked to him earlier he said he had a surprise waiting for when i got home. I LOVE surprises. He said its for me and Ari!!!!! CANT WAIT!!! Makes me wanna skip the rest of the day filled with doctors and questions and go home and snuggle my 2 loves on this gloomy day.
AHAHA on a funny note, as im typing there is a man who is sleeping with his head all the way back SNORING so loud. haha reminds me of my dad. haha when he snores really loud everyone stops and stares. hahaha.
Today when i got my PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) done it was by a young girl around my age. I always ask them why they chose to work Pulmonary?? It was cool she said her aunt was a nurse and when she was maybe 13 her aunt gave her a book about a girl with CF. She said after reading that book her mind was made up at that point to help in any way she could. SUPER AMAZING how the smallest things touch peoples hearts, and they go for it. She also grew up in Silver Lake which isnt far from Litchfield. SMALL WORLD!
Well Im going to get going and see what the hold up is with my appointments. This afternoon is meeting with all the doctors. Will update and let you know how it turns out.
